Our Staff, Mission & Vision

We are an “evangelical” church in that we are committed to sharing the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ and believe in the full authority of the Bible as God’s Word.  We are a “free” church in that we are self-governing and independent.  At the same time, we are part of a movement of churches committed to working together to reach our world for Christ.

Church Staff:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Pastor Dan Osborn, Lead Pastor

Dan & Heidi Osborn
Pastor Dan Osborn is the lead pastor at WEFC. Before coming to Watertown, he and his wife Heidi were active in ministries in the Princeton, Monticello and Cokato areas. He formerly served as the lead chaplain of the Princeton Elim Care and Rehabilitation Center, where he held this position for 10 years. He also has been involved in church planting and interim pastoral positions.
Pastor David Tingley, Youth & Family Ministries Pastor
I came to Watertown after graduating from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. I’m originally from Michigan and my wife Alexis is from the Chicago area. I’m passionate about planting and watering seeds of God’s word so that people may follow Jesus in transformative ways (1 Cor. 3:6-7). I also enjoy running, reading, and relaxing with my family. Alexis and I have a son named Ezekiel and a daughter named Johanna – both natural born Minnesotans.
Ashley Spang, Administrative Assistant
Ashley moved into one of Watertown’s oldest homes near the beginning of 2016 from downtown Saint Paul. Before coming to Minnesota, she lived in Alaska for several years, but grew up in NW Wisconsin. With a degree in human resources, she loves to figure out what makes individual businesses work, and she has a special love for non-profit business structures. She also writes a motherhood lifestyle blog that specializes in encouraging women and finding the best hacks in a variety of areas. John 10:10 serves as a consistent reminder to her that we were designed to have a full and abundant life in Christ, and that mothers are not exempt in that promise.  In her free time, she loves gardening, creating, reading self help/growth books with real paper, and exploring new places in the area with her inquisitive four-year-old, Olivia – and Olivia’s four-year-old Pitbull, Gwen.
The purpose of Watertown Evangelical Free Church is to glorify God by producing and developing disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, teaching, fellowship, and evangelism.
