- Learn: about God’s word, what it meant and what it means to us.
- The Bible was not written to us, but rather for us.
- Wrestle: with each other, and struggle with the text. Sit in the confusing parts of the text, don’t shy away from the complexity of it.
- Sometimes the biggest growth comes from sitting in the Bible with God.
- Faith is more than simply believing the right things but rather wrestling with the Living God everyday.
- Grow: in our Spiritual Maturity.
- This is different from simply learning about God’s word. It matters to learn something but it matters more to have it impact our lives in a meaningful way that encourages us on a day to day.
- Ex: Yes Jesus loves me, but what does that mean in my life and how does that foster the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.[Gal 5:22])
