GodSightings

We know that God is working daily in our lives. We want to give testimony to the fact
that he is alive and well in our world and in our lives!

"Due to the recent economic times and unemployment situations, I have been moved to tell of my God sightings from several years ago. Mike and I had been together for not quite a year, and he got laid off from his job. As a Construction Superintendent, this was a fairly normal occurrence for him. For me however, it was a bit of a crisis - how would we pay our bills? What would we live on?

Three days after he was laid off, I fell and broke all three bones in my right arm. I was in the hospital a week, and had surgery to install 3 metal plates and 36 screws in my arm. Needless to say, I was pretty incapacitated for awhile. Although it didn't seem like it at first, Mike being laid off was a total blessing: He was able to drive me to physical therapy 3 times a week for a couple months; do things I wasn't able to; I don't mean to minimize the stress that unemployment causes, but I was able to see God's purpose -not at the time- but later with some distance.

A number of things worked into God's plan over the next few months. Just two weeks after I broke my arm, I got a great job with great medical insurance so the next 5 months of physical therapy was covered. I have shared this with some of my family who counter with 'it would have been more of a blessing not to have broken your arm', but I disagree. I count my broken arm as a blessing as well - it was my second God sighting.

It may sound strange, but I thank God that I broke my arm - God taught me so much about my self (that I can be strong), that I can count on Mike, and that I can trust God's plan. It was the first time that I truly was able to let go and let God."
